Telecommunication Network and its Types

In this article by Procal, you will be learning all about telecommunication network and also about its types. Telecommunication network – An electronic system for connecting and switching, and controls that control their operation, allowing data transfer and exchange between multiple users.

If a few social media users wish to communicate with each other, they should be set up as a kind of network. In theory, each user can be given a direct point-to-point link for all other users in what is known as a fully connected topology (similar to the communication that was used in the earlier days of the phone), but in reality, this method is. impossible and expensive — especially on a large and scattered network. Moreover, this method does not work well, because many links will not work at any time. Modern communication networks avoid these problems by establishing a connected network of switches, or nodes, in such a way that each user is connected to one of the nodes. Each link in such a network is called a communication channel. Cable, fiber-optic cable, and radio waves may be used for different communication channels.

Types of networks

Switched communications network

The Switched communication network transfers data from the source to the destination via a series of network nodes. Switching can be done in one of two ways. In a circuit-switched network, a dedicated body path is established through a network and held for as long as communication is required. An example of this type of network is the traditional (analog) telephone system. A network-switching network, on the other hand, transmits digital data into smaller pieces called packets, each of which operates independently of the network. In a process called store transfer, each packet is temporarily stored in each central location, and then forwarded when the following link is available. In a connection-focused transmission system, each packet takes the same route through the network, and thus all the packets usually arrive in the same sequence as they are sent. Conversely, each packet may take a different route through the network via the offline or data system. Since datagrams may not reach their destination in the way they are sent, they are numbered so that they can be reassembled correctly. The latter is a method used to transfer data over the Internet.

Broadcast network

The Broadcast network avoids complex network routing processes by ensuring that each node transmission is accessible to all other nodes in the network. Therefore, the broadcast network has only one communication channel. The local area network (LAN), for example, may be set up as a streaming network, with one user connected to each node, and the nodes are usually sorted by bus topology, ring, or star, as shown in the picture. The nodes connected together on the wireless LAN may broadcast via radio or visual links. To a large extent, most satellite radio systems are broadcasting networks, as each Earth station within the system can hear all the messages transmitted by the satellite.
